On the site of London’s oldest timber yard, following a refurbishment that pays tribute to its Victorian craft heritage, this is a unique new concept for London. Flagship stores of established design brands take centre stage, while exciting emerging talent is also given space to carve out a reputation.
Celebrating the history of the timber yard, the identity concept is born from classic timber cuts, using them in a playful way to represent the variety of the design on show at Newson’s Yard.
Timber logs are cut in classic styles across the world, and we used the Plain Sawn, Riff Sawn and Quarter sawn styles to create patterns and animations for the Newson's Yard brand. The animations are mesmeric and form an engaging part of the digital communication of the brand.

We produced a branded video that illustrated the Pimlico Design District and featured some of it's characters, as well as expressing the Newson's Yard concept and development.
We created a type style that reflects the nature of the previous use of the space as a timber yard, featuring a chiseled serif typeface.
